Faux Slicked Back Bun

We all love a slick back bun, however everyone’s hair may not be long enough to achieve it. Lydia shows us a cheat code that could work perfectly for your hair length if you have shorter hair. Part your hair down the middle, stopping before the crown of your head, and put those two sections of hair into a low ponytail. Tying the section low at the base. Then, take your back section and put that into a low bun as well, finishing the sides off by pinning them with Bobby pins. This look allows for a low-tension slicked-back bun.

Low Bun With Twisted Fringe

When it comes to shorter styles, creativity is key. For this style, Lydia shows you how to get creative and use some accessories along the way. The hair is in similar sections as before, except this time we’re going to twist the fringe into four sections and add any accessory of your choice (like beads, clips, etc.). Just make sure nothing is tugging on those ends.

Slicked Back Puffs with or without fringe

The last two styles are essentially the same style, except one has a twisted fringe and the other does not. Section your hair for two mini puffs, leaving out hair in the front for two twists. If you prefer not to have the twists, then section each side and create your puffs accordingly. The key to short hairstyles, according to Lydia is knowing your face shape, and getting creative with accessories. They can offer so much variety and help a regular look feel brand new and fresh.
